1. Scope

This statement applies to the website chatbotmateo.widi.es and Mateo’s WhatsApp channel, the virtual assistant of Vega de San Mateo Town Council, at +34 614 012 335.

2. Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with Royal Decree 1112/2018 and with level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, set out in standard UNE-EN 301 549, due to the areas of non-compliance listed below.

The design follows accessibility principles: calculated colour contrast (main text meets AAA level), full keyboard navigation with visible focus, a skip-to-content link, heading and landmark structure, alternative text, touch targets of at least 44 pixels, and respect for the reduced motion preference.

3. Non-accessible content

Areas of non-compliance

  • The interactive demo features animated conversations. Although it has pause and step-through controls, some screen readers may announce messages incompletely while they are playing.
  • The voice messages you send are transcribed automatically, and the transcript may contain errors, especially when there is background noise. Typing your message avoids this problem.
  • The WhatsApp interface (buttons, voice messages) depends on the Meta app and is outside the Town Council’s control.
  • No formal third-party audit has yet been carried out; there may be other issues that have not been identified.

Alternatives

You can get the same information by calling 928 661 350, in person at the Town Council (Alameda de Santa Ana, 3) or via the e-office (sede electrónica) (opens in a new tab).

4. Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 8 October 2026. The method used was a self-assessment using automated tools and a manual review (keyboard, magnification and contrast checks). It will be reviewed at least once a year or whenever the service changes significantly.

5. Contact, requests for information and complaints

You can report accessibility issues, request information in an accessible format or make a complaint using the accessibility form on the e-office (sede electrónica) (opens in a new tab), by calling 928 661 350, or at the Town Council registry.

Please clearly state which page or content is affected and describe the problem. The Town Council will respond within the period set out in Article 12 of Royal Decree 1112/2018.

6. Complaints procedure

If your request for accessible information or your complaint has been rejected, you disagree with the decision, or you have not received a reply within the deadline, you can make a complaint under Article 13 of Royal Decree 1112/2018 through the Town Council e-office (sede electrónica) (opens in a new tab).
